En Guanajuato inicia campaña: Un vistazo a la contienda electoral en El Heraldo de México
Xóchitl Gálvez Ruiz, precandidate for the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition (PRI, PAN, and PRD), has decided to change the venue for her campaign kickoff, which was originally planned to take place in Mexico City. Instead, she is now preparing to start her campaign in Guanajuato.
The candidate’s press team informed that the campaign kickoff will be held in a city in Guanajuato.
During her tour in Spain, the presidential hopeful from the opposition bloc made a plea to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to address the security issue instead of publishing more books.
“Instead of writing a book of slanders, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador should devote more efforts to tackle the brutal crisis of violence that is taking the lives of young Mexicans,” she stated.
She exemplified the violence in Mexico with the recent case that occurred in a bar in Villahermosa, Tabasco, where an armed confrontation left three young people dead, several injured, and numerous arrests.
“The video of the murder of three young men in Villahermosa shows us how the culture of impunity and the embrace of criminals lead to a minor conflict ending in a major tragedy. Three lives cut short due to impunity and barbarism,” she expressed.
In front of Spanish businessmen and the Mexican community in Madrid, Gálvez pointed out that the recent discord between Mexico and Spain has been motivated solely by political pettiness. “I am convinced that as sister nations, we must rebuild friendship and trust between our peoples.”
