¡Claudia Sheinbaum está lista para dar inicio a su campaña!
Claudia Sheinbaum, the presidential candidate for the coalition “Sigamos Haciendo Historia” (Let’s Keep Making History), declared herself ready for the start of the pre-campaign. She arrived at Hermosillo International Airport at around 8:00 a.m. local time, where she was received by dozens of supporters of the Fourth Transformation.
When asked if she was ready for the start of the campaign, Sheinbaum responded, “Yes, totally.” Today, she is scheduled to hold a private meeting with the party structures of the Fourth Transformation movement. In the afternoon, she will be traveling to Culiacán, Sinaloa, to conclude this inter-campaign tour.
From one of Mexico’s most important tourist destinations, Claudia Sheinbaum, the virtual presidential candidate for the coalition “Sigamos Haciendo Historia,” delivered a message: we cannot continue to grow with so much inequality.
During a panel with the media, the aspiring head of state acknowledged the need for tourism promotion but also stressed the importance of adequate housing and transportation for the population.
“We cannot continue to grow with so much inequality. Yes, there must be tourism promotion, but there must also be housing for people, dignified housing, there must be dignified transportation, there must be water for housing,” Sheinbaum stated.
“The public resources should be allocated to these areas, and we need to reach an agreement with the businessmen so that it is not possible for someone to pay 10,000 pesos for a hotel room while their tourism workers are living in cardboard houses,” she added.
Sheinbaum insisted that the economic benefits generated by tourism should primarily contribute to the well-being of the residents of tourist destinations.
