Intento de fraude en las elecciones de Poza Rica: denuncia Emilio Olvera
Emilio Olvera, the mayor-elect of Poza Rica, Veracruz, has accused authorities of attempting to steal the election in Poza Rica, following the order from the State Local Electoral Public Organism (OPLE) to recount the votes.
“They want to steal the election in Poza Rica, where we won with a 5-point difference, and they are also trying to steal the election in Papantla,” stated Emilio Olvera.
He explained that Poza Rica is experiencing a “governability crisis in all of Veracruz,” mentioning that on June 1st, elections were held to choose the 212 municipal presidents, and “since the results were not favorable to the governor, they sent their political operatives who blatantly opened electoral packages and annulled votes that were for Movimiento Ciudadano.”
“They illegally ordered the opening of 51 electoral packages, but we refused because they had already been tampered with,” Emilio Olvera pointed out.
In an interview with Lupita Juárez for Noticias de la Tarde de El Heraldo Televisión, broadcasted by El Heraldo Media Group, Emilio Olvera emphasized that “today, I can say that I am the mayor-elect.”
“We have filed appeals, and now we trust the Regional Chamber of the Federal Judiciary to resolve this matter in accordance with the law,” Emilio Olvera declared.
He also mentioned that “democracy is at serious risk not only in Veracruz but in our country if we allow what is happening in Veracruz to repeat in the 2027 elections for federal deputies.”
“We demand that the governor keep her hands off, as there are many problems in Veracruz that she should focus on,” Emilio Olvera stated.
The situation in Poza Rica continues to unfold, as the mayor-elect fights to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and protect the democratic rights of the people.
